What style(s) do you specialise in?

I bring a modern reportage style to your wedding and generally my clients prefer a more natural look. Most couples also like a few classic, perhaps more formal shots too. I aim to capture the feel of your day and leave you with a set of images that look great now but will also age well.

Will the photos be retouched? Is that done before I see the proofs?

Yes.
I balance the colours and clean up the images before you see them. I don't heavily edit images as that would work against the natural look I aim to cultivate.

How long have you been shooting weddings and how many do you do in a year?

I have been working professionally as a wedding photographer since 2015 but I was lucky enough learn the trade by assisting other photographers before branching out on my own

I shoot a maximum of 2o weddings a year.
I have to limit the number because shooting a wedding requires a huge amount of work, from preparation right through to the album printing.

What's your favorite part of a wedding day?

Mostly I like the bit where I get cake....
Oh! you mean to photograph?
Definitely the getting ready part of the day, everyone is excited and there's a sort of sizzling nervous energy, It makes for some great candid shots.

How much do you charge and what exactly is included in the price?

A full breakdown of services, prices and what's included are available here.

Will there be any hidden costs?

No. Only what we agree.

How many hours of coverage do we get?

Generally I will be available from the bridal prep in the morning until some time after the first dance.

Will you be my actual photographer, or will it be one of your associates?

You book me, you get me!
There are other photographers I work with as second shooters if and when they are required.

Do you have backup photographers who will shoot the wedding if you're sick?

Should the worst happen I will arrange for another, trusted photographer to take my place.
But It's never been necessary.

Will there be a second shooter or any assistants?

As standard a second shooter is not included in the price and I don't generally require an assistant. A second shooter can be arranged for a fee if you would like extra Images or if there is a particular request which requires a second professional photographer

On occasion I may have an assistant who is there for experience, but they would only be there with your express permission in advance.

How long after the wedding do we get to see the photos?

At the longest, in high season 3 months. but that would be an exceptionally long time, I usually get them to you in well under half that time.

Do you do video?

I work closely with an incredibly talented Videographer named Mathew. Our styles go very well together and I am always blown away by his work.

I am also more than happy to meet and coordinate with any videographers you may hire

How many weddings do you do a weekend?

One. Its a lot of work!

Will you follow a shot list?

Of course. If there are a few particular shots you want then lets arrange for it to happen.

What type of paper will you use for the prints and album?

My albums and prints are all on acid free, archival quality paper in a range of finishes.

What are the restrictions for sharing photos?

My fee includes an online proofing gallery for you to download your images and order prints. You can also share directly to social media or even open up the whole gallery to all your friends and family. There are no restrictions on sharing the images and I don't require you to print through me. The print services I offer are a little more expensive than what you can find on the high street but the quality is exceptional.

What cameras do you use?

I use a couple of Sony α series, full frame, mirrorless cameras and Carl Zeiss Lenses. These are amazing, top of the range digital cameras and Zeiss are arguably the finest lens manufacturer in the world.

Do you bring your own lighting?

During the ceremony I keep my distance, the last thing I want is to become the focus on a day that is entirely about you! I avoid artificial lighting during the ceremony wherever possible.

I tend to use a few flashes and stands to help me get great images during the reception. I only use small non-bulky flashes.

How will you dress?

like this:

I need to be able to move freely to get the best shots so rather than a jacket I wear a shirt, tie, waistcoat trousers and dress boots.

I hate posing, do I have to pose?

I'm very hands off with posing. As far as I'm concerned I'm there to capture your day not put pressure on you to perform. I want to see the moments as they unfold naturally . There might be a few points where I may need some help (such as formal pictures after the ceremony) but they are pretty few and far between.

We are getting married overseas, can we still book you to photograph our wedding?

Yes of course, I relish the chance to travel. Depending on the location I may ask you to cover travel and accommodation expenses.

Are you Insured?

Absolutely.
Out the wazoo.

How does the album design process work?

After you have received your images we sit down together and select the images you would like bound in an album.
We then go through the range of materials, papers and finishes available  until we have the perfect album for you.
I'll then go off and edit the images into a set of proof pages for you to look at before finally sending them to our incredible print partners.
